Worshiping in the presence of the Lord yesterday, my spirit was awakened to words that I have heard before, but not actually heard them – for if I had, the posture of my heart would be all together different.
Raising voices to sing, “Our God Reigns!” it hit me anew that indeed ‘Our God Reigns!’ My mind was boggled as my heart arose to the Lordship and Kingship of God – The Lord! I began to see that indeed He stands in the highest place, He wields utmost authority, and He reigns supreme over all earthly kings, rulers, and leaders! I began to see that because God reigns, anything is possible! All I have to do is submit to His Kingship, His authority and so share in His great reign.
You see, the world today is filled with endless possibilities! For many, the end of one road is the a beckoning to see and at the end of that, the vast skies await – nothing is impossible! With one too many tools at our disposal, we work our way into greatness! Self made we may not declare, but our strength lies in us – our skills and wisdom, our friends and networks, our resilience and determination – who we are is a work of our hands.
Crafting our path, we have built idols of authority. Truth we have cast aside to make room for our ‘valid’ feelings! Raising our voice above divinity, we have hang up on the maker of all we see and beyond. Now we tread on sand, building castles and sleeping insecure because even though we purport to, we have no true control of anything!
Guilty of trusting in my hands, boasting in my wisdom, and walking in my might, the revelation that ‘Our God Reigns!’ is more than awakening, it is humbling – and therein empowering. Insecuity and fear is kicked out the door, intimidation becomes food for my eyes because I know, ‘Our God Reigns!’ Aware of my weakness, I behold new strength – His strength and my strength in Him! I race boldly to war, because the authority and reign I represent has commanded an army of angels and arch-angels to my side.
I now understand how a thousand shall fall at my right side and a thousand by my left, but I shall be preserved! I now understand how I should go out into all the world and disciple nations, establishing the kingdom of God on the earth as it is in heaven! I understand now that the great works that I have desired to do – the works greater than Christs’, can only be done in submission and in unison with the Lord! But above all, I understand that nothing is impossible! Mountains move, and oceans part, at my command because I command not in my own authority, but of the Lord – our God who reigns!
For you that has been timid and confused about your path, insecure about your future – ‘Our God Reigns!’
For you that is burdened by the hustle and bustle of your strength, exhausted from the futile pursuit of success – ‘Our God Reigns!’
For you that feels ready to run and fight for the Lord, longing to live out and walk in your divine calling and purpose – ‘Our God Reigns!’
For you that has given up everything to say Yes to the Lord – and it appears like you’ve lost it all, rest in this truth – ‘Our God Reigns!’
The beautiful life we seek, the blissful future we desire, is hidden with Christ in God! The only way we partake of it, and walk in it, is in submission to, and union with the Reign of God! Allow God to reign in your heart. Allow Him supremacy over your life! Align to His will for you and for the future you desire! Lay down the wisdom and might that you have leaned on thus far, and take on the unsurpassable wisdom and might of God! Step out fearless and sure of victory to come because ‘Our God Reigns!’
I have never felt so secure and so confident as I do now, because I know without a shadow of doubt – without any physical manifestation or the lack there of – that ‘Our God Reigns!’
Now when you see me arise, bold in pursuit of the nations – and when you see that I have turned the kingdoms of our God and His Christ, be sure that my strength is in nothing I know and nothing I can do – my strength is built on one simple yet profound truth; ‘Our God Reigns!’
